A Trip to Istanbul (No, Not That One)

Down to London and a visit to Judd Books in Bloomsbury, where these two gems were acquired for the princely total of £8.90:

A short walk to Kings Place for the concert by Johannes Berauer's Hourglass.  An unusual band, in that the titular Johannes  Berauer does not perform, but composes the music and travels with the musicians as an integral member.

We had seen pianist Gwilym Simcock and guitarist  Mike Walker several times before in another band - The Impossible Gentlemen.  On that basis alone, musicianship of the highest order was to be expected, and so it proved - an evening of wonderful, exciting music.   See here for a short clip filmed at the concert.
